But sure how well the front light mount works with the Shimano long reach caliper brake and mudguard.

I think you'll want this mount

but you could also go for bar mount too

Yes. Those are options for sure. I realize there is a hole in the mudguards you gave me so might try and mount the light there to begin with.

That hole was for the thorn fork which has an eyelet under the crown
