You don’t need a chainwhip to fit a freewheel, they just screw on. To remove the old one you need an appropriately sized freewheel removal tool, not a chainwhip.
Unless you’re talking about a freehub?

Thought I need to properly tighten? or is finger tight fine and it tightens itself from riding?

Sorry for spamming wanted thread but has anyone got a chain whip I can borrow in East London for a few moments? I'm in Haggerston and just need to fit a freewheel
