I started stashing rain trousers in my commuting bag last year for really bad days - got the ‘spendy’ ones from decathlon and did me well during storm Dennis in Wales last year. A little short for me, but I am a lanky bastard. Some gaiters are in the horizon as well to complete the #wetlook
