Ones a foul-smelling, excrement laden, rat infested, dank, dark, grim area that most people prefer to pretend doesn't exist, the other is an underground network of tunnels and conduits etc, etc.

I suppose one could make a 'from the frying pan into the fire' type of point. :)
(Most of Romford is fine, of course, it's just the central one-way system that has damaged the town centre, but it's hardly unusual in that.)

I've already posted this in the news thread, but as it is very random, as the motive of the man for jumping is apparently unclear, I thought I might as well post it here. He landed on a trainee doctor, Grace Spence Green, and only suffered a broken leg, while she was paralysed.

Fingers crossed for her that she manages to limit the effect of her paralysis further.

Cross-posting from the commute thread:
Camberwell, yesterday 8:15 ish. Rider knocked off by falling bed.
Bed base and mattress blown onto road. Rider got up, obviously in pain holding wrists. Assisted by passerby's. Hope it wasn't too serious. -

That's just Internet non-randomness.

London mudlark randomness, possibly a dildo used on corpses to prevent the chi from escaping the mortal remains:

Does being taken from a sewer into Romford count as being 'rescued'?
