  • Got Breckland maps off their Facebook group via another FB account.

Anyone know what roads like? Was just gonna run Vitoria Corsa Speed 25mm and hope for the best.

  • I did last year's Breckland 12 on 23mm Corsa Speed tubs. Deeply uncomfortable over the rutted sections on the A11 in the northern half of the course, but I didn't puncture or die. I know they've amended the course for this year, but I don't know what the changes are.

  • Thanks for the info. I don't really know the course. I think all the 12s I've done have been with Pro Optimums at like 27mm or Turbo Cottons at 26mm. But I've also spent most of this year riding around on 47mm Horizons at 40psi. :S
I'm thinking 25s Corsas would be the fastest compromise. I really don't know what my appetite for suffering will be given no proper prep for this. I need to check the tyres on the race wheels - pretty sure they're 23s. I may just leave them on and roll with them. Spending £50ea on tyres makes it sound like I'm trying :D

  • Do you recall how "hilly" or rolling the course is?

One thing I've not thought about is gearing. My setup was last used for the Welsh course so it's 57x23 or 21 whatever the straight 11spd cassette is. I'm aiming for 25mph but I don't want to cross chain like a bastard on climbs like I was yesterday (on what I hope was a much lumpier road).

I think I might have a compatible 54T in my stash but it's not as sexy as my full carbon 57T

Just "found" another DA cassette that's been on the kitchen windowsill for months now. I think it must've been off old race wheels, so at least I've got that spare.
