Watched Palm Springs last night, Brooklyn 99 meets Groundhog Day as a kinda nihilistic romcom, very much enjoyed it although not "good".
watched this on the weekend and also enjoyed it. very much a romcom but i felt its one of the few where the usual tropes were actually handled very well and wasn't just the usual feign outrage for no reason etc to check the box and move onto the next phase of the film. the characters actually behaved like real flawed people.
spoilery bit - don't read the rest of this sentence if you haven't seen it but I did wonder if maybe roy was intending on taking niles out to the cave in the final scene to trigger it all again before using the info in the voicemail. also why didnt roy take his family to the cave so he could spend eternity living a fresh new day each loop with all of them engaged in it rather than endure the same day on his own.
Queen and Slim was great, even with a brief drunken pass out towards the end.
