Mossies only bite me as a last resort if there is nobody else around, it must be the risk of food/alcohol poisoning. Jungle Formula seems to deter the few with little regard for their food source.

We were all instructed to buy Avon SSS for our post tsunami working holiday in Phuket. I showered at least three times a day in it and did not get bitten once.

Last time I was in Malta/Gozo the nights I used skin so soft were the nights I got coveed in bites.

since I was a toddler I've always reacted horrifically to insect bites so I hate the little fuckers. DEET all the way.

They predate on a whole range of other insects and as such are part of the health and balance of the prey populations. I keep bees and was initially a bit paranoid about wasps, but having observed wasps help one of my hives through a bout of Chronic Bee Paralysis Virus (by removing the most ill from the population before they could spread the disease further), I relaxed a lot on that subject.

Which doesn't mean I actually like the vicious bastards, ofc.

People using the term ‘Staycation’ when they’re actually on holiday in the UK (or whatever country they usually reside in). It’s not a staycation is it you prick, you haven’t stayed at home. You’ve gone on holiday, accept that.
