Can anyone recommend a place to hire a VW Transporter? I'm debating using one for my Alps trip.

I wanted to get some new doors, but panels have been hard to come by. So I have made the best of what I can get.

I did the harlequin thing to a Rover P6 as I thought it looked cool, well replaced rusty and damaged outer panels from scrap yards. Couldn't sell it though till I repainted the car one colour.

Did you visit the church where he’s buried a few miles away.
Interesting little place with boxed family sections, all painted pale pink after a film crew dressed it so and they liked it and kept it

No, but that's OK as it just means I need to go back.

It’s a good getaway that’s an easy trip from London so another wouldn’t be much of a chore

Estimate seemed low.
Do it!
Was the only car among all them that I had any interest in

Estimate seemed low.
It is but it's not run for a couple of years so there could be issues. That said bodywork and interior look immaculate, and the ridiculous curved glass at the front is intact which apparently these days is a bespoke job if it requires replacing.
Do it!
If I could afford it Mrs Bobbo would not tolerate the prospect of me having an automotive project terribly well.

That could still be some kind of sensor fault.
The stability control works by monitoring several parameters (wheel speed, brake pedal pressure, throttle position, steering angle etc.) and can apply the brakes to control the vehicle. So a faulty sensor can cause behavior similar to what you are reporting.

Yep, since 2009 cars sold in the EU must have stability control that can use the brakes to steer the car, so it could be triggering the rear calliper to bring the car straight as it were.

To come across as a cock, do you want some thing expensive and difficult to get parts for and a very small number of people that actually know what they are doing.
Looked at cheap SMs in the past, a few with different engines and boxes fitted but not working. Then gearbox and or engine bits in the boot.

You have very good taste, I worked on the GF friends a south african import DS. Have thought about getting an SA import as they rust free part is the biggest pain, but then you can get most of the panels and parts quite easily, for some reason alot of the parts came from Belgium.
Actually looking for a Mehari at the moment. It is the GF dad's car he has always wanted to would be nice to get one as a birthday present as who knows how many he has left. We have the idea that he can tow the Mehari behind his camper van.

European breakdown cover- the AA are £170 for two weeks, or £240 for a year. I’ll likely go with the £240 as it seems better value- but do people know of a better option before I purchase?
Progress has been made, hopefully into the body shop next week. I am very happy.
