Do you know what marketing bullshit SRAM came up with to justify not simply adopting 386EVO?
Having enjoyed the 6 minute game of bullshit bingo which is the launch presentation, it seems that they think they can get more bearing durability out of 29mm than 30mm. This is only an actual potential gain when you're trying to fit the bearings inside a 41mm OD for BB86/92 which nobody in their right mind would even attempt (yes, I know it has been done with 30mm and now DUB, but it's as moronic to try to fit into that shell as it is for a frame manufacturer to impose it on their customers)
In the general case of external cups or BB30/PF30/386Evo shells, they're just going to use the usual 6806 size outer races, balls and retainers with a special underbore inner race anyway.

Bonjour. I have a 1978 Motobecane Grand Sprint that has a snapped off front fork dropout. I've decided to fit different forks as the pantographed originals are probably unfixable.
Anyway, the original forks were French threaded so I'm assuming the BB will be too. I've undone the lock ring on the non-drive side but can't get the cup to move, yet.
The question is - is the drive side lefty tighty, righty loosey as per everything else I own or is it righty tighty, lefty loosey before I cock it all up? -

Some French bicycles, notably many Motobécane models, used Swiss thread bottom brackets. These have the same thread and diameter as French, but use a left thread for the fixed cup.
This makes life interesting when you need to remove the fixed cup and don't know which way to turn it. Good luck. Thanks Obama.
Thanks @withered_preacher

Ah yes, even Sheldon has left me with a 50:50 choice. I think I may just skip this bike :)

What's the best camera for Zoom / Skype and whatnot if I don't have time to faff about with a DSLR setup?
Something I can get the front end of next week...

• #103637
Do you need to Skype/Zoom from a computer - basically, do you need to share your screen? If not, just use the phone app. If you are demo-ing/instructing or something, consider a phone tripod.

does anyone have any front rack recommendations that has flat bed and can take panniers?

Have been experimenting with apps that let you use the phone camera as a usb camera - seems good. Video quality is certainly nicer than the facetime camera on the laptop. Camo is a contender but it’s subscription...

Two very different questions:
Bike Related: I have an Ultegra equipped bike with the longer derailleur, currently with a 11-32 11speed cassette on it. I assume I can put the newer 11-34 cassette on, but could I potentially put something with a 36 on it?
Headphone Related: Samsung Galaxy Buds+ or Jabra Elite Active 75t? What is best for riding? Both have a passthrough mode, which is best?

Ultegra
Which Ultegra?

I think it's 6800. Was whatever the standard mechanical set was around 2017.

6800

32 by design, 34 will nearly always work, 36 might be pushing it.

Correct. Not a bad rack, especially for the money. Panniers sit a tad high. Other than that, couldn't complain.

@psg1ben As has been mentioned, dental insurance won't cover pre-existing conditions, I have dental insurance through work and they refused to pay for a filling that I claimed for, after they phoned my dentist and asking whether in his view I'd have needed the filling before the start of the contract.
I've got two implants, lower left pre-molars, both of which were snapped off at the gum-line when I came off my bike and used my face to absorb the impact.
At the time I was using a dentist in Deptford, to whom I went for (quite significant) remedial work to resolve issues from the crash. They applied to the local NHS trust on my behalf for the implants as the loss was due to a crash rather than for e.g. 15 cans of coke for breakfast and an antipathy toward tooth brushes. It was extremely useful to have my dentist take on the application for me- frankly I'd not have had a clue where to even start with it, and they of course knew the correct things to say with regards to my dental history.
I had the two implants done at Guys, by three dental students and their tutor - not as terrifying as it may sound, largely because of the happy pills they gave me that made everything blandly entertaining. They drilled my jaw then screwed in titanium anchors, which they capped off with what they referred to as buttons. I was then sent off for I can't remember how long, during which time the bone fused to the titanium anchors. I remember that breathing in when making a hard effort on the bike (in winter) sent a wicked shock down through the two metal buttons straight into my jaw.
After whatever the period was they removed the buttons and bolted in my new teeth, which have been fine since (this was maybe 11 years ago).
I lost two teeth and had two implants, however with you they might group implants into a bridge type structure - but I don't know what that means for cost.
I got the two implants for free, due to my dentist making my case to the NHS trust for me - without which I'd not have been able to have those teeth replaced as (at the time) the ~£2,500/each cost was totally beyond my means.

Yep, phone cameras are typically way better quality than webcams. You don't even need to use USB, most of the apps just connect the phone to the pc via wifi. I was using an old iphone as a cam until a webex upgrade made webex incompatible with it.
Maybe a daft question, but do you need to use the laptop at all? Skype and Zoom both have phone apps. Loads of people I work with don't bother joining meetings from their laptops, they just use the app on the phone.

Ooo, interesting.
Was gonna go pizza rack but this does look like a good option too. Not sure whether mounting by mid fork eyelets would be better though

Hmm, maybe I just need to HTFU, but I wonder what 'pushing it' would risk me.

If you get the upper pulley to clear a sprocket that's 4 teeth bigger than design, either by messing with the B-tension screw or extending the hanger with something like a Wolftooth road link, you risk having shit shifting at the top end because the pulley will now be too far from the small sprockets. You might also run out of total capacity - an RD6800GS with an 11-36 cassette can only handle a 12T difference up front because you only have a total capacity of 37T
I don't*, but SRAM did.
* untrue. I don't give a fuck either way.
