  • Anybody ever ordered from Rotate cycling?

  • They've got a shop in Shoreditch so I'd imagine they're trustworthy

  • Cant imagine them to be dodgy, just wondering if anyone had ordered from them and what their experience was like?
Not to come across like some entitled yuppy* but I ordered some shorts on Monday for local collection and I still haven't heard anything from them other than the automated confirmation email. I know I should be patient and Im not trying to name and shame but I wanted some nice new shorts to ride in this weekend! Now what am I supposed to wear while posing at the coffee shop with my shiny new flatbar gravlocross bike that will never see gravel in its life!

*Full disclosure: I am an entitled yuppy

  • Yeah. The jersey I bought arrived shop soiled (came out in the wash) and they didn’t have the cap in the colour I wanted so they sent 2 different ones instead (if you’re after a bright yellow Albion cap hit me up).

Were nice enough over email and would have resolved my issues if I hadn’t been happy. I’d order from them again.

  • Just pm’ed you the email address of the person that was helpful in resolving the issues I had

  • Good to know, guess I'll just keep trying to be patient. As for the cap, I appreciate the offer but I think I'll pass haha

  • I bought my S&S jersey from Rotate earlier in the year (which I ended up having to cut off myself due to the zip failing), good communication but had to email a few times first off to get a reply... would order through them again cause they have some nice kit you can’t get elsewhere

  • if they use a third party fulfilment centre to ship most of their stock out, it's probably just delayed there. There's been another demand spike so a lot of places are taking ages to pack and ship, especially for their smaller clients

  • Would you mind PMing me the address too? I bought some bits a couple of weeks ago and haven't heard anything. Not even a confirmation email...

  • I ordered some winter Belgian Boys Club kit from there a while back. It took about 2 weeks to come and I had to chase a couple of times before I got it. I ordered two sizes in the jacket and tights but neither fit so I returned it all, then I got a bit of a snotty email from the guy saying he’d ordered it especially from Belgium and now he’d incur the cost of sending it back. I do think it’s cool that they sell a lot of brands you can’t get elsewhere, I’d just assumed they already held the stock.

  • Went past the shop earlier today, absolutely no signs that it’s open, looks totally empty so I guess I can forget about picking up my order from there. Probably going to ask for a refund at this point, been nearly a week and not heard anything.

  • Are they not answering emails ? They are on Instagram afaik.

  • Will PM you now!

  • No response since I ordered last Monday, chased them again on Friday morning but still nothing. Shop looks deserted, not that thats surprising given current circumstances but if the shop is closed then why still offer local pickup as an option? Going to give them another nudge today but I don't have high hopes

  • I’m still waiting for my replacement jersey... I emailed Robyn about two weeks ago as I’m starting to get a bit narked off now (current situation doesn’t help) and I’m yet to hear anything. Wish I’d just asked for a refund now so I can buy something else

  • Sadly my experience of Rotate has been similar. That said on both times it's worked out in the end.

Hoping they can get there shit together as I like the store and Robyn seemed like a good guy when I met him.

  • Probably time to take Rotate chat somewhere else guys. Back to stylish kit and that...

  • Who's selling jerseys that don't look like bike kit with with the convenience of rear pockets?
Ideally priced like the morvelo but subtle like Cafe du cycliste...

    https://www.morvelo.com/collections/mens-jerseys/products/movin-overland-dual-short-sleeve-baselayer-jersey
    https://www.cafeducycliste.com/en_uk/men-gravel-jersey-betty-white-navy.html

  • I would love a t shirt style 'jersey' with back pockets. I tried that cafeducycliste one before but wasn't super keen on the design.

A plain soft merino one, slightly baggy would be ideal.

  • Some of the cafe du cycliste jerseys are lovely. Good job I’m not riding enough to justify the expense. Not sure about the climb
t-shirts. What are the ethics of buying a koppenburg t-shirt when you have been up it, but maybe you had to walk a lot of the way, because greasy cobbles and all that?

  • The trouble with the looser ones of those is the amount of swing you get from putting stuff in the pockets

  • I quite like those CdC ones but the idea that gravel requires a different top is among the more ridiculous ones out there. Why would slightly different road surfaces mean you don't need a zip?!

Obviously I'll prob buy one, but still...

  • I’ve got that tshirt even though my brother in law planned the route badly and we only went down it. I’d say go for it!

  • Giro (used to) do a mesh base layer with pockets in, which you could wear under a loose t-shirt

Also @andyfallsoff the Gravel jerseys look significantly looser than the regular ones, basically just MTB jerseys with Road styling

  • Giro (used to) do a mesh base layer with pockets in, which you could wear under a loose t-shirt

Had a look but no more.. going to take a punt on a morvelo base layer - seems like the best approach. Could also be real handy for wearing under my waterproof shell that has no pockets.
