Four bikes in parent’s garage. All the Continental tyres (GP4k and Four seasons) do the below. Panaracer, Vittoria and Specialized tyres fine. In London I only ride Conti and they’ve never done this, bikes are in my flat. What’s happening? Conditions?
It’s annoying as I deliberately buy premium tyres to keep my mum on the bike!
They get used, probably 40-50 miles a week. But run at a lower pressure than perhaps they should. I’d like to get wider tyres but I don’t think the frame would accommodate.
That's happened to every (premium) set of Continental tyres I've kept in my basement. I'd say the low pressure riding won't help, but I don't think being stored at low temperatures is good for those tyres. It might also just be the change in conditions in a garage, hot to cold, dry to humid, etc.
Is this weird?
