    I'd give you a fiver.

  • That sometimes happens when there’s too much initial tension in the cable. You can add a bit of slack by easing off the pinch bolt and letting the cable slacken 1-2mm.

If the shifter feels heavy without any cable tension then the issue’s in the shifter.

  • Have you considered going abroad? My wife and I have had dental treatment in Turkey. I appreciate logistically not easy if you needed initial and several follow up visits.

  • I don’t relied on it all the time. As it’s best to quote new chain and cassette regardless, but in extreme case, it work enough (after a test ride), and make sure customer know it’s not guaranteed it be 100%.

  • Thanks all x

  • Oh, those are good ideas. I have considered going abroad. The only place I could visit regularly that I hear has more affordable dental work is Poland. Not sure if this is still the case. Appreciate the answers guys.

  • I seriously recommend that you register with nhs dentists in Fulham, I've been going to them for about 8 years (had a nightmare trying to find any decent NHS dentists in London before that) and they're just brilliant, they're basically what dentistry on the NHS should be. They specialise in NHS service so all the fillings and root canals will be done at NHS band prices (unless you want white fillings and even then the price is lower that every where else ) and they wont try to up sell you. They offer private dentistry for things not covered like implants (I had mine done there) but if you can qualify for NHS treatment due to trauma they'll definitely tell you. I live in forest Gate so it's it's a bit of a trek across town for me to get there but it's definitely worth it. At the very least they'll be able sort out the emergency stuff for you without you having to sell a kidney https://www.nhsdentist.com/

  • I go to NHS in Fulham too after a recommendation on here and they've been great.

  • Is there a brand of basic messenger bag that uses a cam at a fixed point on the side of the bag to lock the strap length, like an old skool Timbuk2, rather than one on a running buckle at the front that comes undone literally all the fucking time?

  • Thanks!
    I'm going to contact them.

  • 104 BCD nw 44 tooth chainrings.
    Anywhere?

  • I might have one!
Will check in the shed in a sec

    Nahh its 96

  • Only thing is, I need serious (almost emergency) work done. Think 4 root canals finished (potentially 5), 3 implants, and plenty of fillings.

Not the best timing but you're better off going abroad.

A long time ago now, but as an eg it was significantly cheaper for my dad to fly with me to Barcelona and stay in a hotel and have an implant there.

From my Croatian colleague, Croatia also sounds like a good option, as does Slovenia.

These types of procedures require quite a few staff as well as the operating space, so the reality is that in the UK it is expensive and gives some idea of the real cost of medical procedures.

  • I'm after a normal old fashioned round (golf ball?) light bulb with a bayonet fitting that is the same brightness / warmth /etc as this one, but ideally opaque.

What do I want? I'm really struggling to find it, as I do every time I buy modern bulbs.

    • opaque
    • golf ball
    • bayonet

    Cheers

  • If you have space for a converter, you may have more chance with SES screw in

  • What the fuck is SRAM DUB? Says it's backwards compatible but only if you use SRAMs BBs? Is it yet another BB standard?

  • It's just under 30mm and asymmetrical.

  • Yeah like 28.9 or something, but why and what's it compatible with and how long are they going to provide BBs for it I wonder?

  • It stands for durable unified BB and it's SRAM's one BB to rule them all. They'll sack off GXP and 30mm axles for just one 28.9mm axle.

Or so they said who knows if they actually did it.

  • They'll sack off GXP

    Hopefully.

  • It’s one crank standard to rule them all. They make many BBs so that it can fit in any frame.

If you’ve got a threaded bb shell then condor appears to be the only place in the UK with stock
