We've got this one. Its big, heavy and expensive but makes excellent ice cream very quickly and its easy to clean.
We chose it ahead of the Sage because its not unnecessarily complex in design...just a compressor/chiller and a churner.

Ah nice, thanks. I was just reading this review of the Sage and it basically came to the conclusion that the auto sensor stuff was hit or miss due to variations in recipes so you end up using it in manual mode anyway and goes on to recommend your Cuisinart.

Another great recipe, thank you. We went for the whole 6 x cloves and melted some anchovies with the shallot. Will be making again very soon.

is there anything a tin of anchovies doesn't improve?

If anyone has an issue with having too many courgette flowers, I'd happily take this burden off you, even better if in North/East Londres

with ice cream and custard?
-
• #29887
Ice cream, of course. Custard is my winter crumble accompaniment of choice. Both together - madness, I say!!!!

Both. Forever and always. 🥰

Yeah it’s a good one. Oh that sounds like a nice lil addition - very rarely say no to adding Chovys!

Popular opinion on oats vs no oats in a crumble?
-
• #29891
Done right they can be a good variation especially in savoury crumbles.
-
• #29892
Our family only ever has oats in their crumble, I think I've only ever had crumble without them for school dinners.
25g oats, 50g flour, 50g butter, 100g light brown sugar. Makes enough for a 2 person crumble.

It’s a nice variation, I sometimes do it. Last night I sought purity.

Lovely. Does anybody else prefer to measure in imperial for baking? As in
1oz oats
2oz flour
4oz sugar
EtcI find it much more convenient and memorable. But my other half is European and her scales only measure in g. Must get me some old fashioned ones.
-
• #29895
Funnily enough the recipe is written exactly like that (from my grandma) but similarly to you my scales only measure in g!

Both together and sometimes a little pour of cream.
