appreciate the responses guys. Sounds like I should just try and run the car more rather than spend 30 quid on what might be a waste.
£30 once is a lot less than spending £60 on a new battery every year *, which is what I ended up doing on my last car. I’d still look into it.
(* Starter batteries stop holding a decent charge if you let let them go flat more than a couple of times)
