Just for the sake of options, I've been looking at some of the acepac stuff. Not many reviews of it out there but I like that it had a fully featured handlebar bag which can attack to the harness or directly to the bars, because I would like the extra capacity if I was using a harness, but would like to be able to use some part of the system on day rides etc. Also it looks like the bearbones bikepacking store sells their stuff, which suggests to me it's OK quality at least.

I did have a quick look. Looks interesting but I'm trying to slam together a bunch of kit at once without knowing what the hell about anything so will hold off buying the missus much until we've a better grasp of what she's likely to need/want.

Do the straps allow different width fitting? I mean the whole thing looks pretty simple, I wonder if I could do something like @Samuli and hack up a Joey. Finding all the straps and foam padding means a lot more googling though.
Oh, that's different to your one: https://bikepacking.com/gear/revelate-designs-harness/
Shit, Pronghorn is like £200. I think I'll stick with Restrap. I like their framebag and they're local.
