Apparently Watch Dogs 2 is being given away while it's on. Wasn't impressed enough with the first to pay for the second, but may as well grab it for free.

Pretty excited to see what they’ve been doing with watchdogs legion. Was really impressed with the gameplay they showed last year so looking forward to see what they’ve got to show now the game if close to completion..

It's a significantly different, more accomplished game, now. The Ezio series improved a lot on the clunky mechanics of the first game (and were just excellent), Black Flag was in that same tradition while also managing to be one of the best pirate/sailing-combat games around. If you went straight from the first AC to Black Flag, you'd have a lot to learn to catch up. Agree with @Soul that Black Flag is a stand-out game. But if you have the time, I really think the Ezio games are worth playing.

Others in that sequence (AC III, Unity, Syndicate) were a bit meh. But with Origins it's expanded into a more traditional open world RPG. Most people like it and feel the character of AC is still there, but I do know others who feel it's just another RPG now.

Syndicate is fucking terrible and the only game i've ever chased a refund for.

Considering replaying Odyssey as a chap, just for all the guaranteed man-on-man action.

I might pick Black Flag up then! They're all ridiculously expensive on the Xbox store but I'm sure I can get a physical copy for not too much.

One great thing about Steam, as long as you've owned it for less than a fortnight and played it for less than 2 hours you get a refund no questions asked.

Makes up for the lack of demos these days.

Syndicate was free on xbox gold, I uninstalled it after 30 minutes

I really liked the atmosphere of AC Syndicate, although this may entirely come down to me living in Helsinki at the time I played it and pining for London.

All ACs are fun for a bit but get too samey before you can finish them.

I did finish that London one, but avoided as much side shit as possible and was getting bored of the Identikit missions by the end.

I have enjoyed all of them but AC:3... that said I'm super bored of Odyssey. Trying to do the DLC and just the the same. Origins seemed to grip me more

Agreed; origins was the first game (in any series / on any platform) in a while that I completed 100%.

It was large enough to be varied but not so large to be a chore.

Will do when it arrives (might be a while) - it's from aim controllers if you want to see what they can do. I've gone very plain looking but with the 4 remappable paddles, digital triggers & grippy stuff on the back.

They've got some pretty chunky discounts on at the moment & I needed a new controller anyway (both my other ones have stick drift/ghosting).

finished control and all side missions except jukebox. enjoyed the mid-game loads, ashtray maze was great set piece, but end was pure non-event bullshit. spent a good while smashing up against the cleanse panopticon mission because the final bit is basically impossible if you dont cheese it a little bit and you have to do the whole fucking thing all over again in the least fun way possible if you fail. the bit after that just felt like a massive waste of time for almost no extra story benefit.

not sure I'm ready for the dlc any time soon but I'll probably revisit when the season pass is on the cheap.

in other news I'm deep deep into Apex Legends now. just reached Gold I in ranked and hoping to hit diamond IV this week (but not fussed about going beyond that really) and finally managing to get some consistent games (largely because the solo queue has more people taking it serious as you get higher up.

With a decent squad who are careful where they land, share loot appropriate and my new fav combo r-301 and prowler with selectfire hopup i'm getting to top 3 a surprising amount even playing quite aggressively.

of course you'll still get the idiots who drop late and send you into a hotzome where everyone has landed and looted and is waiting with full shields and 2 automatic weapons already wasting your RP in about a fifth of the time it took to earn in previous matches. those games seem to come in groups of 3 then the matchmaking service will take pity on me and give me good teammates again.

fucking hate the whole jumpmaster thing. I think I would almost prefer if the game just truly randomised where people landed.

I prefer the jumpmaster thing to the COD Warzone method where 80% of the time at least one guy launches himself off in the opposite direction

I thought that when I started on WZ - the issue has compounded now when you're playing stimulus trios as when the one moron flies to the other side of the map you end up being stuck 2 vs 3 with the other team having bought their loadouts straight away, making it doubly annoying!

I’ve reached Diamond 4 two days ago.
It get harder each season.

Found really good team mates while solo queuing and managed to get 3 wins in a row and one 2nd place.
It’s all about having good team mates with mics.

I love this game so much!

Had crazy win clutch yesterday.

Ended up with 1hp whilst my team mates downed. Managed to sneak out of view and pop a phoenix kit.
