I know I have a propensity for attracting bad weather but even I don't think I'd pull in a snow storm in summer here.

Yeah I see you as a bushcraft type, foraging for berries and scraps. That is another YouTube rabbit hole.
-
• #1831

By 'foraging' you mean 'stealing shit from campervans'?

The Fancy Feast stove (based on cat food and tomato paste tins) is my favourite one, doesn't need a stand or to be pre-heated.

I have answered this many times, the aliexpress tents are still my recommended buy unless you want to spend more than £350 -

aliexpress
Yeah smarty pants and what if you don't want to buy an aliexpress tent?
The Lanshans I've seen appear to be copies of the Laser Comp which is too skinny.

Like that one, yep.
The DIY is incredibly easy; I’ve used welder’s blanket material for the wick. -

if you don't want to buy an aliexpress tent then it's time for a trip to the IKEA of the outdoors, décathlon

https://www.terra-nova.co.uk/all-tents/2-man-tents/zephyros-compact-2/
The Compact version has 30cm pack size which means it might actually fit between my drops.
-
• #1844
Pack size can be misleading based on the length of poles which can be strapped to top tube allowing the rest to be smushed down much smaller.
-
• #1845
Yeah, but if I want to keep the tent in one 'pack' and not add stuff to my top tube, I'm kinda into the idea of keeping shit out front or on a rack.

Another tent on the bay
-
• #1847
i may have missed it but have you looked at the big agnes bikepacking stuff?
i have the one person copper spur and although i haven't used it (will remedy that in about a week) it looks the business and is 30cm long packed
-
• #1848
Not really, kinda trying to stay away from all the US stuff (unless some second hand kit turns up).
-
• #1849
Have these been covered on this thread before, look good for the price?
-

Are they not just rebadged aliexpress/lanshan tents?
Hope you will be taking a stove as there are endless purchasing choices there too :)
