  • We weren't in the national park, just across towards Stalybridge kinda way, but will bear that in mind

  • A bit OT but thought this would be a good place to ask....

I want a canvas roof for a kids den. Was going to use my ex-army basha, but I've lost it.

Before I buy another does anyone have a better (cheap) suggestion? A basha appeals as it can be repurposed as a different type of shelter.

    Cheers.

  • Nice one.

I guess it'd be unlucky to be caught away from a tourist trap spot, so proper discrete wildcamping will probably slip under the radar still.

  • See if a local haulage firm has old truck tarp you can have? Or bouncy castle hire co.

  • Surley they dont actually have such authority?

  • I can give you truck tarp if that's any use? still got a few colours. it's 150cm wide.

  • I'm not sure I'd want to argue with a local ranger then bed down for the night in the same spot, regardless of their having authority or not.

  • Really good fun though.

    Doing it wrong.

  • Type 2 fun at best.

  • Cheers Scott that would be awesome.

Colour isn't too much of an issue but a preference for natural / camo type colours.

    @rhb good idea.

  • Ok...so long as it's natural lime green, natural cerise pink, natural pillar box red, natural bright orange, or light grey...I can sort you out. :)

  • I haven't stepped foot in London since you offered me some.....last year? :(

  • Anyone got any opinions on the 2GoSystems Trifecta?

  • Saw an advert for this at 50% off the other day. No idea if it's any good or not

    OEX Bush Pro Bivvi

  • Anyone got any experience of this one? I’m tempted.

  • I got mine for around that at the start of summer, really happy with it for the few nights I used it for. It's the only bivvy I've used but it did what it said on the tin. It packs small.

  • Got my Borah bivvy today. Weighs 202g including sack. Not waterproof but I have a tarp too.

  • Anybody got any good bivy spots on the SDW near brighton? Please DM me - thank you.

  • Anyone got any tips for cleaning Neoair sleep pads? The internal baffles on this are also coming apart so its formed a kind of pillow at the top end. I expect this will only get worse and it's probably a bin job right?

  • No help on cleaning, but Alpkit’s Continuum project may be able to reuse/recycle/up cycle it before it goes in the bin. Just need to register a return and send it to them, pretty sure at Alpkits cost. They also do repair and care, but that may only be in store…

  • Interesting but sounds like they only take clothing and if they need it to be in good nick, well this ain't really it. https://alpkit.com/pages/continuum

EDIT: no, they do accept other kit but

"Everything is passed on directly to the recipient (new user) of the donation so please make sure that it is clean and functional."

  • Ah ok. Had just seen it on socials so didn’t know the details. Shame it’s not everything, but better than nothing!

  • IIRC the delamination is a known failure mode; guessing it's out of warranty?

  • I got it 2nd hand and it's pretty caned now.
