What adjustments to which spokes donj make at the point where it's offline?

I'm a big fan of the Cyclus spoke key. It's a nice tight fit on 3.2 mm nipples and pushes all four faces, and it's inexpensive.
Next one I buy will probably be a Sapim spoke key because it is apparently a touch less tight, so easier to slide on/off the nipples. Also nice and sturdy:

No, this one...

Think that Cyclus is pretty much the same as a Spokey.
I know what you mean about being easier to slide in and off the nipple. I use basic Park 3 sided ones for building wheels where you wanna be on and off the spokes quick and often then I’ll switch to a 4 sided one once I start getting things tightened up and always 4 sided for truing built wheels.

Same as any truing operation.

Thanks for that tip. I have a couple of 3-sided Park spoke keys so I'll do the same when I build my next wheelset.

I am gonna go with £100 bonus! That should make a happy mechanic! Anyone wants to build my next bike?

Me me me!

You are in Manchester, no? A good mechanic is worth the travel time though! 😎

• #87
I'm only in it for the excessive beer money, your mechanic will be a friend for life.

Can you send beer in the post?
-
• #92
I can't, no.

You want beer or not?
-
• #94
Yes.

Only matching what the boss is giving! 😳
If it wasn’t for the fact that work has not been affected by the pandemic at all, I wouldn’t be in a position to do this.

• #96
So who wants beer?
