  • I did 1x10 deore group from aliexpress for my retro gt hybrid. Works perfectly and wasn’t too spendy. Looks slick too..

**well aware it’s not a mtb so sorry for putting in this thread. Just to illustrate the group on something of the era...

  • Looks fierce! What era and model exactly it is?

On another subject. Finally finished my daily bike,
Pretty happy of the result :)

  • Nice work. The tanwalls look excellent, and the pink grips are just enough for the paint job without going overboard.

Ignore anyone who moans about the headset/spacer stack! If it works for you, then it's a winner.

  • The model is Legacy, I can’t find it in any of the catalog archives on retrobike but based on the parts & decals I’m guessing late 90’s/early 00’s. Hopefully someone can enlighten me.
It’s only chromo main triangle and the parts are bottom end shimano/promax. I chucked everything apart from f&f, stem/bars and brakes(I’d like some black deore vs tho).

They did do a pretty decent spec hybrid called the Nomad which I’d love to get.
The main cool point of the legacy is it’s covered in rack bosses inc mid blade and double fork dropout eyelets so you could prob build a tourer from one.

They’re hideous stock(mine had a full length chainguard as well, still got the chainstay mount which I should cut off at some point) but there’s def potential.
They come up on eBay/gumtree all the time for pennies so they were prob stocked by Halfords or similar back in the day.

The ride is great, I’m a big fan.

  • Very cool & smooth!

    Which brake levers are those?
