  • Klein is incredible.

  • That Klein is a beaut! Do you happen to know what year that Klein is from?

  • Great build indeed. The paint reminds me of a tvr

  • Seem to think it's from 2000, not entirely sure why...maybe was in the original ebay listing, get the impression the owner had it from new.

It's definitely from 1999 (when they changed to the spaced out Klein font) to 2002 (when they stopped production in Chehalis).

  • The -17 stem finally arrived (after waiting for around a month and a half). Looks much nicer, but not sure my back entirely loves it yet. Also added a new seatpost clamp.

It's really fun to ride, but definitely quite harsh with 130psi tubs and a 31.6 post. Has got me riding loads and with a smile on my face, which is the main thing! Having some minor slipping issues (I think) due to sanding of the seatpost clear coat/graphics. Will need to fid a solution. I actually have a 27.2 shim and a nice 27.2 post. Anybody know if the thinner post might make the ride a little less harsh?

  • Going for a thinner post will for sure give more flex maybe go Ti and a more comfortable saddle .Love the Klein.

  • I think it looks brilliant but the wheels are too deep. Something around 40mm would be much nicer.

  • This is stellar! Fantastic job. I've always wanted one!

  • but definitely quite harsh with 130psi tubs

Not surprised! Any reason to run such high pressures? If you dropped to eg 80psi it would probably make a bigger difference than changing the seatpost. Plus lower pressures are faster apparently.

  • My favourite colour for the klein as well. They are light bikes without trying. Mines a bit over 7kg with dura ace 9 speed and that not light.

  • Exactly what I was going to say, I'm no lightweight and run my tubs in the 80-90psi range.

  • Tubs at 130 psi are the problem. I have 25mm tubs in mine running at 80 psi and it's much more forgiving.

  • Thanks all, will give it a go at lower psi.

The text on the sidewall of the Corsas specifies 100 - 175, so I have always just picked a number somewhere in the middle. Was never really an issue with a carbon frame and 27.2 post - the roads where I ride are generally good condition.

  • Inclined to agree. Have some older Assaults which I think are closer to 40mm, will give them a try.

Decals have also been removed, which is something I don't like about the Vittorias...
