  • IMO NMSW in the back, NMSW / MSW up front which turns silver after usage (if black rims). Shows you actually ride it. All black rims non-disc rims on a road fixed looks like a shop window / for looks only. One other thought is the H plus son archetype hard anodised which isn't black but isn't silver, and the brake track doesn't really pop out. They are nice

  • Yeah i think we're on the same page (edited post - NMSW), but i have noticed MSW f&r is almost less awkward than front only IMO.

Problem is most modern wide rims have a higher profile so the MSW really stands out. It looks a lot less contrasty on low profile box sections (Open Pro, TB14) but i want something lighter/lower spoke count that's wide. Archeytype hard ano is a good call but not sure it's a better rim than the XR22 which is what they'll be replacing.

  • Has to be a nmsw on the rear if no rear brake imo.

Msw without a brake is like an empty mech hanger or unused brake posts.

Up front msw is so much neater than anodising/paint that wears off.

  • Better in what sense? Are you racing, audax or CX? Because if you're just chopping around the lanes at 15mph just go for looks because if it's modern wide it doesn't matter that much
