I have a 2002 seat leon with automatic and leather with only 47000 miles. It was owned by my friend's elderly aunt who gave it to him in 2016. I have had it for a year now and sadly have to replace it with a Ulez-compliant car.

It seems that Skoda has discontinued all of its vRS models, and the most potent engine you can choose for an Octavia and Superb is either a 150PS 1.5 TSi or a 150PS 2.0 Diesel.
Seems disappointing, and against the general trend for things getting quicker.
I don't particularly want to get another Passat if/when I hand back the Superb.

Has vw dropped the potent engines from the other 'lesser' brands such as Seat?
-
• #55510
Because there's a new one on the way

Ah ok, they are keeping that model.
When I bought my Superb, there was a 220PS 2.0 TSi, (not a vRS) which is the one I have.
Last year, there was a 245PS 2.0 TSi, which was only available with 4WD. Neither of those seem to be options now.

• #55512
Are the engines any different and just different programming?
-
• #55513
2.0 245PS was just an ECU change over the 2.0 220PS as far as i understand. Now they aren't offering a 2.0 TSi at all, just a 1.5.

• #55514
Look like the new Leon only comes with the 1.5TSI too - expect the Cupra version will get the 2 litre.

Just a well I’ve not got 12k+ burning a hole in my pocket then I guess

Slight hiccup the other day. Went alongside one of those scrap metal pickups with a cage on the back and didn't notice the door was open. It caught the top of the windscreen and then scraped along the roof.
Cracked the windscreen and dented the frame and the roof. Any suggestions on how much I'd be looking at to get it fixed. It's a 2002 Punto so there's a limit on how much it's worth spending on it.
Cheers

2002 Punto
I'd guess it's a write off, sadly.

you mean £24k...

If it were simply a damaged panel, I'd try a breakers yard for a cheap replacement. But a replacement windscreen and roof is gonna be expensive...

Looking great.

The 190bhp diesel seems to have gone as well, I loved mine but Company Car Tax meant it got replaced with a Rav4 Hybrid for half the cost to me.
Probably why a lot of engines are being dropped from the lineup. -

If this going through the insurance, the car is beyond economic repair.
Windscreen is going to be an fitter job. The screen is bonded in. Removing a bonded in screen and not breaking it is difficult. Then the actual stuff to stick the windscreen to the car so stop any leaks.
Looking at the damage, is the lip where the screen bonds undamaged? As long as you can get that area to still seal with a new windscreen does it matter? That should be easily straightened with clamps but would need the windscreen removed.
Repairing the leading edge of the roof is going to be difficult, as you won't be able get behind the lip as there will probably be a second skin reinforcement. So buy a cheap glue dentless removal kit quick search bought up these https://www.thedrive.com/reviews/26866/best-dent-repair-kits probably best to have a go before fitting a new screen.

More just to know what you are getting from that dealer, have lusted after a q4 since they came out. There were two that I knew of in south London/kent both Lancia owners club members.
So alfa romeo 155 q4 or or 164 q4
Thanks for these, helpful. Don't have fb but i'll get my gf on them.
As i'm sure is common with folk in this thread i'm now weighing up how best to carry bikes. There are a few nice giuletta's around but with the panoramic sunroof and Alfa say not to have roof bars on cars with the sunroof. And alfa's shouldn't have towbars, plus it's basically an extra £1k to carry bikes.
