ok, so these are just my thoughts, but not as good for these reasons.
Max current o/p is lower.
The need to bodge a permanent power connection (sealants, etc...)
No cache/buffer.
usb-c plugs in my experience are less reliable than the larger ones.
As a result will need to buy new sets of cables for usb-c to mini, micro etc for the Garmin and other bits (admittedly a minor concern).
If I tried to use those power pins in a high vibration environment at work my boss would kick my ass.
Thanks, that's very useful. I've got a D1 on one bike now, and suspect I'll be getting a D2 for another one. The benefit of the D2 appears to be that unlike the D1 it doesn't have to be in airflow to stop it from overheating. That might help explain why the maximum power output is lower.
