WANTED: Gravel/adventure bike, 56cm

  • Looking for a road bike that has clearance for some bigger tyres. Dont need to be monsters, 35s or 38s will be great. I'm wanting to get off the tarmac some of the time and explore some tracks and trails but something that can hang on the road too.

Something with a decent group set that will help me get up some hills (recently been riding my fixed gear on some longer rides out the city, had to walk a couple of hills - no shame).
Price range £400-600. Maybe go higher for something special
I'm up in sunny Nottingham, but could probably arrange a pick up from London or could pay for postage.
I'm 5'11 so 56 cm frame will fit nicely

  • I live in Scunthorpe so not a million miles away from Nottingham .

Have a 2017 Cannondale CAADX Tiagra I'd let go for £450

Upgraded the wheels to Mavic Aksiums

It's a cross bike but it's currently fitted with Schwalbe Rocket Rons 35c tyres.

  • Interested. Scunny is close enough to pick up
What kind of condition? Any pics you can send?
Is it the subtle green colour? ;)

  • Its not the subtle green colour. Its quite loud I'd say.

It was used for commuting and stored with other bikes so it has marks to be expected but it still rides well and its a tough bike. The Rocket Rons have loads of tread left on them as swapped them out for slicks when commuting.

I'll try and upload some pictures of it later on for you.

  • @user101916 thought I was the only one.

Here's a link to a few pictures of the bike, as mentioned above it has it's knocks and bruises from being used as a commuter. I am the second owner of the bike too.

The brakes pads need replacing but I've bought two new pairs recently which I'll include. The gears skip a little but adjustment and indexing should see it right again. Other than that it's been a solid bike for me and I enjoyed commuting on it but I have a fair few bikes now and this is used the least now I walk to work so it has to go at some point.

  • Completely forgot to add that it is a 56cm too.

  • Thank you for the offer, sorry for delay on getting back to you, but decided to go in a different direction and get a carbon road bike.
Good luck if you decide to sell the cannondale

  • No problem at all. Hope you find what you're after.

On that note I do have a Giant TCR Advanced 3 I could be persuaded to sell ;)

My desire to reduce my collection and increase space is quite high at the moment haha.

It's a 2018 model, black with blue and green decals. Tiagra. Would be looking for £700 if you were interested?

  • Selling frame and forks only?

  • Good luck with the clear out. I picked up a virtually new Basso from Bikeworks in Derby. Nice shop, nice guy and a really nice ride out on the this morning

  • Nice, hope you enjoy it. :) I know someone who rides a Basso and she absolutely loves it.
