  • What's next on the PS4 catch-up. God of War or Spiderman?

  • Same here.

For me, it was absolutely 10/10 experience. The graphics, motion capture and audio was next level.

From all games and movies I've ever played/watched, this had a biggest emotional impact.
Not gonna lie that I haven't had tears less than 1 time.
Last time I was so emotional with some sort of media was Interstellar :D

  • God of War definitely

  • Both, but if only one then GoW definitely.

  • not up with the LOU noise - is the saltiness coming from the usual tiresome fragile white males who don't like seeing girls in they vidya?

  • the LOU stuff is crazy! compare the two reddits : r/thelastofus and r/thelastofus2. It's weird how much some people hate the game

  • Yeah its mad, death threats to the voice actors and all sorts. Imagine getting that worked up over characters in a video game story. I personally likes that it wasn't your usual character types.

    God of War it is.

  • Wow I'm kinda opposite on TLOU2

Graphics - ok top notice, surprise PS4 can do this
Gameplay - umm it's Uncharted 1 still, really kinda a shame and boring
Story - it's ok, i do feel they did cram everything into it which kinda makes it feel (to me) false

I do agree the little notes are good, but I also feel a shame the world is such on rails (needed for story sure) because i'd love to keep exploring the settings.

I started out at like 9/10, now I'm more like 6/10 ... it's just meh, i'll finish it but i think i've really stopped enjoying it

  • but I also feel a shame the world is such on rails (needed for story sure) because i'd love to keep exploring the settings

Isn't that the same TLOU 1?

  • Yeah but TLOU1 was kinda unique at the time, I would rate it better than TLOU2 but not amazing.

  • I thought TLOU was always meant to be story first, gameplay second. Not as much of a playable movie like some games but far from the openness of Horizon and the like.

  • I do agree about the exploring.

When you first arrive in Seattle (hopefully not a spoiler to anyone) and it presents you with a mini open-world, i was expecting the same for most of the game, especially given how well they made the use of the paper tourist map etc.

The attention to detail is next level though. Like if you revisited the large seattle map over the course of the game, it updated with where you'd been, notes etc.

  • Sony buys 1.4% of Epic Games for $250 million: https://venturebeat.com/2020/07/09/sony-invests-250-million-in-fortnite-maker-epic-games/

Seems odd looking at it from a Playstation v Xbox point of view given Epic are so reliant on PC gaming. Could be more down the line of making use of Unreal Engine for film I guess.

  • I've just been a bad man & ordered a custom controller - no excuses after this!
Now just have to sneak it into the flat when it comes so no one asks any questions...

  • .

  • Loving this samurai film style trailer for ghost of Tsushima.
And am really intrigued by this black and white “Kurosawa” mode the developers have been talking about..

  • If you enjoy that then the latest one

"If you enjoyed having that stake hammered up your ass, maybe you'll enjoy Total Stake: Oddysey." Um, just a minute... oh, wait, he enjoyed it, nvm.

  • Finally sat down to play through Mirror's Edge: Catalyst after a few years. The environment design of those games is so damn good (the fact that it was created by a bunch of Scandinavians isn't surprising), and incredibly refreshing amongst the huge amount of dull, gritty tones that seem to dominate games for the past decade or so. The plot and combat are pretty sub-par but it's incredibly enjoyable just bounding around the city.

  • That looks amazing, I hope the gameplay is good.

  • All of those scenes of the player walking through fields of flowers brings me back to the final fight against the Boss in MGS3. Need to finish TLOU2 to I can pick this up.

  • Are any of the more recent Assassin's Creed games any good? I enjoyed the first one when it came out but haven't played any since.

  • I thought origins was great. Black flag is the best one though.

  • The graphics look great!

  • Origins and Odyssey both very good. The latter better IMO.

If you're on PC they're both discounted on uplay at the moment, £25 for both.
