Yet another sign that the end times are upon us - Robin Thorn making a disk-braked audax bike...
(Would totally, obviously.)
-
• #23653
He been doing that for years tho.
-
• #23654
Yeah, but the Audax Mk 4 is disk only, isn't it, and pretty much all of their models now default to disk don't they? Given how vociferous he was about their effect on front forks, that's quite the turnaround.

We resisted designing a steel disc fork - because we knew that a reliable disc fork could never be as comfortable as our Reynolds Super Tourist V brakefork - and itβs not!

This is lovely.
-

I think the fork still takes Vs and indeed, on the site it recommends that configuration.

Thorn Club Tour Mk5 + Thorn Mk3 Disc fork = Β£629 + Β£159.
Crust Evasion is $975 (=Β£775) for the frameset.
Crust wins by ~Β£13

didn't realise Crust were so cheap... though got inc. uk postage. which is the nicer /lighter frameset?
-
• #23660
-
• #23661
Yeah postage and tax on top is pretty hefty. No idea which is nicer, it doesn't even say what the tubing is on the Crust pages.
Crust will get you more Insta likes though

Does Thorn publish any useful geometry data?
Edit: just saw the rear brake mount..nevermind.
-
• #23663
Thorn Club Tour Mk5 is Reynolds 725 according to the pdf on their website.
-
• #23665
Rear light is a let down but everything else is pretty banging

• #23670
They're all Masis'...
-
• #23671
It's a shame they don't sell in Europe
-
• #23672
My house mate in Toronto bought one, 650b with guards from the shop. I wanted to nick it when I moved back.
-
• #23673
The Masiβs are much nicer then similarly priced Surlys.

Have you considered a Pelago Stavanger or Brezzer Doppler?

Can anyone identify the rack on this one?
If you squint, maybe
