It’s a steel frame, so you might be able to get the chain stays crimped to gain clearance there - but you’d want the advice of an experienced frame builder who knows more about the specific steel.
Although I’m not sure how well a bigger tyre will fit up against the seat tube. Either way, factoring in new brakes, forks and having the frame modded, it makes me think buying a different frame could be cheaper.
I have a Condor Acciaio (sp?) which I like a lot. It has clearance for 25mm tyres but I'd like to run something much wider say 38mm. Would it be possible to have the frame modified to do this? I am assuming that it would require a new rear triangle, and new forks. Is this a sensible way of keeping a frame I like or a stupid idea?
