  • I recently bought a garment online, it arrived and didn’t fit, so informed the shop and returned it via Royal Mail signed for service. Royal Mail have attempted 5 deliveries but their delivery time is before the shop open. The sorting office is open for collections between 7 and 9 am which is also before the shop staff are working. When I contacted the shop they told me this has been a problem since the pandemic started, which leaves me wondering why they didn’t instruct me to use an alternative delivery service when I notified them of my intention to send the garment back.

What can I do to resolve this?

  • What solution have they offered? Will the parcel eventually come back to you?

I suspect distance selling regs/sale of goods act might be a useful stick to beat them with; otherwise frozen sausages by courier not RM?

  • They are telling me to get Royal Mail to redeliver during their opening hours - I can’t imagine RM will reschedule their postal routes for one item, also it’s impossible to get hold of them.

All I can do is request another delivery attempt.

Long term the item may get back to me, but probably outside the 14 day period and I am out of pocket until this happens.
