  • I built up the Guadrini, despite my brother telling me it was too small and to sell it, like an earworm, I ignored him, when he came round he was surprised I only have a 30" inside leg. It fits great, wheels are Pete Matthews onto hope titanium, groupset is old Daytona 18 speed, and the tubing is Colombus Genius. I popped it together over two days on furlough. The only thing I switched is the pedals to egg beaters. It's s fab little bike for what it cost. The saddle came off another bike I'd bought and it was a bit ripped up, so used bostick and some leather silk spray polish and it looks great.

  • That looks like a proper hoot 👌

  • Love this. What's the make?

  • Not a massive fan of these Nitto Randonneur bars, now I've offered them up.

Time for a spot of lunch and a re-think.

  • Those forks are something else! Stunning.

  • Welcome, you must be new here...

  • Welcome, you must be very fun at parties...

  • Don't bother, doubt you'll make the guest list... ;)

  • Went for an old pair of Cinelli Campione del Mondo's in the end.

  • Absolute stunner! How does it ride, do you feel any significant difference between this frame design and a standard diamond one?

  • I know a guy over in Wigan that's an expert on these, I think he has about three, if you want to ask any questions I can hook you up.

  • Thanks. I haven't ridden it far yet. It feels pretty much the same as a normal diamond frame. Doesn't seem to flex much, maybe because the main tubes are massive.

  • if you want to ask any questions I can hook you up.

Cheers. This one, being a modern one, seems pretty sorted. I used to have a vintage one that was a bit more challenging. If I get stuck on anything, I'll give you a shout.

  • Is there anything special about a quill stem expander bolt?

Noticed my cut down quill stem wasn't holding particularly well today, so there could be a number of reasons.

  • Few bikes i recently built.

Dawes(pretty rare brand in czech republic) is singlespeed with velosteel coaster brake.

Neo retro Panasonic on 11speed shimano 105 for friend of mine.. Rides surprisingly good. :)

And Peugeot Izoard PE400. Basic crmo frame, with good tire clearances so i made from it 650B conversion. Groupset is 9speed Shimano Sora, and wheels are Czech Remerx with hutchinsons 35c tires. Fork steere is extended so i could use ahead stem...

  • Why is it surprising the Panasonic rides well? Looks cool, my favourite of the bunch but all really nice builds!

  • Good job x 3

  • That Peugeot!!! hot!

  • picked up my first MTB in donkeys years (17 I think). pic is as I got it.

changed saddle (and angle) to my go to choice and took off reflectors and other things I don't need. The forks (these ones are fucked) will get changed to rigid I think but no other immediate plans other than to ride it.

I suspect a change of fork might mean a change of stem though I quite like this one. if anyone can recommend decent 1 inch threaded rigid mtb fork then I am all ears.
