There's your trouble. Shimano made deep splines on 7800 in order to build an aluminium freehub rotor which wouldn't get cut to shreds by the sprockets. It turned out to be more trouble than it was worth and they very quickly replaced the 7800 hub and wheel lines with 7850 products with a titanium rotor with standard HG splines. 7800 is the the problem child, your cassette will fit any other 8/9/10/11-speed Shimano HG hub and a wealth of compatible hubs from other manufacturers.
