NE? Really? I think I assumed we were SW so disabled that along with the other stuff. I didn't notice any difference. I'll have to check. It's still feckin slow compared to the 1000 though, even with all the extra stuff disabled and locations killed, etc. It's easy to work around on the road but off-road when you can't be taking your eyes off tracks so much it's much trickier to take note of the travel direction. Only other thing I could try is disable the screen rotation feature and try to work it out based on the arrow direction along. Or use my etrex.
IIRC you only need the Garmin Cycle Map NE functional for the UK.
If you need address search on the map you need geocode enabled.
The DEM is elevation data, up to you if you enable it or not.
