ok, so i put some half decent tryes on this, a Brooks C15 saddle and more appropriate riser stem... i'm genuinely shocked at how much fun it is... i don't know why that's a surprise, but it kind of is!

They've been powder coated... they were in a bit of a sorry state. I'd neleglected this bike for years, but they came up a treat tbf

So was it powder coated, new decals applied and then a lacquer of some kind over the top? I like the grey-blue of the frame.

Rad. Really dig old MTB's. So underrated...well...now not so much anymore, but they're so fun to build and grind. Commute on my old Saracen always gets me to where I'm going with a smile.

Powder coated and new decals... no laquer... "battle ship grey" frame and "army green" fork... I wasn't a huge fan of the fork at 1st, but its grown on me

I underrated them myself tbf, this has been a bit of an eye opener

Short of total MTB hooliganism or trail obsessing, old MTB's are remarkably versatile in all conditions. I've taken mine loaded up where I thought I could go and survived. I need more space.

The only issue is the rim brakes, in dry weather they're absolutely fine, in the heavy rain I've remembered how comedically bad they are 😄
I've got a very modern gravel bike in the garage, but tonight I chose to ride the GT, no regrets 😎

I’m hankering over getting a Zaskar or something and doing a cheap build but owning a house gets in the way... loads of semi decent frames etc on the bay... I kinda miss being able to go off-road

What size do you need? And how much do you want to spend? Maybe I have something in the attic I can let go.
-

At a guess, I’d need an 18 inch... no budget as such so don’t get in the attic yet ;)

I’m looking to upgrade a fork on a 26” MTB frame with a 1” headset. Canti bosses, eyelets for guards and rack preferred.
Would prefer new; have found the Soma CX forks but they seem to have been discontinued, likewise the Kona P2. Both are difficult to find secondhand in 1” form.
Could go used, but my knowledge of which models to search for is almost zero...

Just found this old tequesta, the paint has been damaged by the sun but looked in a pretty good shape. Worth it for 150€ ? Love the paint even faded :)

Just bought some of these maxxis dth, seems like a nice low tread. How are you or anyone else finding them? Seem light which I can’t say was a massive priority for me in buying them, and not cheap too.

My boss needs to get rid of this. It's a 58tt. £170. Remarkably good condition.
