Hey Jameso, thanks for the note, no theyre not quite right for what I’ve got in mind but cheers.
If I did go with them I’d have taken the full wheel set - good price by the way, you just need to find someone that needs them!

What frame did you pick up??

No probs just thought it worth mentioning. They were with a 700C frame, oddly. Of course I started thinking about building a cool correct-geometry small road bike for my OH around them .. she prefers her e-bike : )

That way lies ruin......I got a 650c kids bike frame, then a trispoke and disc rear, then a 650 TT bike, then some 650c Zipp 400s, then some 650c HED Deeps, then another 650c frame....

Greeno Ha.. no probs.
Davey, I did eye up a 26" v-brake frameset here and see the Vs would let the brake blocks move up, but no.. excess project stretch. -

There are offset brake shoes out there (they give you another 10mm). But IME cxp14 are really a track rim, the lack of machining on these isn’t particularly nice to brake on - compared to vintagey rims from when machined brake tracks didn’t exist. Also they are really stiff, my road bike has them and it’s not a forgiving ride on country lanes.

Thanks Skully - worth stripping them down and splitting do you think? 650C track seems a bit niche ... but I'd keep the hubs if the rims would sell to recoup some £.

this seller has had these on ebay for ages so they don't seem to be shifting at this price...
just not the market for it any more it seems unless they are mega collectable...

Yep^. A while back lo-pros with 650c fronts were hip, you saw a few if these cxp14 bought & sold (flogged one meself). But yeah, 650c is a bloody niche bit of kit. So yeah @jameso, strip and reuse the other bits, or offer to donate them to Herne Hill Velodrome in case they have a loaner bike or two running 650c?
Old rims can be made into nice things! Or useful things... ever tried catching crayfish?! You can make an awesome net with an old rim!

That is a good call - will email them. Crayfishing or wall art after that : )

Or if it fits buy @fizzy.bleach 's cannondale which is a bargain and throw them on that for fun times.
If you could get some gumwalls in 650c i reckon these would be so nice.
