If private property is used to gain access to someone else's private property (a private lane to gain access to a garden) are the people who own the lane in anyway liable? Seems unlikely, but there is a CCTV camera pointing at my fence which would have captured a thief/some thieves nicking my bike. I don't mean liable in terms of the cost of any damages, but I'm just curious what type of help I can hope/expect to get from them (if I can even get in touch with them). I'm expecting none, to be honest.
