Make sure you have only one map active at a time helps speed up redraw.

Enabled: Base, Garmin Cycle Map NE, Garmin DEM map, Garmin Geocode map EU, Garmin cycle map EU SW

All my OSM ones are disabled.

Any idea which of the ones above I should actually enabled for UK?

IIRC you only need the Garmin Cycle Map NE functional for the UK.

If you need address search on the map you need geocode enabled.

The DEM is elevation data, up to you if you enable it or not.
