  • More contemplation due

You already have time and money sunk in the project. Do it right, do it once.

Marine ply is cheap (<£50 for 12mm thick) and should last a couple of years with no maintenance. You'd need to do the maths on what thickness you need, 6mm is going to be roughly the same weight as 2mm aluminium.

  • That's way simpler than other things I've read online would have me believe! Will give it a punt this afternoon. Thanks a lot.

  • Far too simple a question.

If they just disabled the account then reenabling it would be fine.
If they have an offboarding process of which disabling your AD account was just one of the tasks then you'll probably be SOL

  • When did all the feckin' chains double in price?

Cheapest not-shit 11spd chain these days?

  • When did all the feckin' chains double in price?

    Over a period of time.

KMC X11 is €17&change at your favourite German online shop, you only have to buy a couple to make that better than shopping in the UK

  • SRAM PC-1130, which is £16-17 in a few places.

(If you’re super cheap PC-1110, but it’s not nickel-plated so looks like crap after one wet ride)

  • Good point well made. I was just searching for KMC, forgetting that Decathlon own-brand are also KMC 🙂

  • Couple of questions that I’m having trouble with....
Are there any silver dropper posts in 27.2 made?
My disc brake rotor bolts rub ever so slightly the inside of the fork, do they still make rotors that have the holes recessed? remember seeing hope or Amp research rotors way back with em recessed.

  • In 10 speed, the Decathlon-branded KMC chain turned out to be the -EL version, several pounds cheaper than anyone selling it in a KMC box.

  • Are there any silver dropper posts in 27.2 made?

Yes - Thomson and Brand-X do them.

  • Thanks Howard, I had a look at the thomson one but it has a more gold color, looks way off from their silver stem color. I’ll check out the brand x one, thanks again

  • A mate got these 'Respect the cock' stickers printed many years ago and wants a reprint but has lost the deets.

Can anyone identify what font they are?

EDIT: Bonus quiz question - can anyone identify the frame? No prizes, this is just for fun kids...

  • Gross. Is your 'friend' also a member of a men's rights Facebook group?

  • very good, no i don't think so. And it's a chicken type of cock rather than an appendage.

  • oh my god. I had no idea it was that easy. My wife's squeak constantly. dead excited to get home and chuck loads of grease in them. thanks!

I've got one of these, BNIB, if anyone fancies it at cheaper-than Decathlon price...

  • Respect the cock

    The what now?

  • Is this a machine screw? Goes into metal (specifically the cooker door). Britannia will send me a new one for £10 inc P&P but I want to undercut that if possible.

12mm,M4 by the looks of things?

  • a rather large trailer

Is there a build thread for this?

    Cheers.

  • Yes, that's a bog standard button head machine screw.

Leyland SDM have loose individual screws for pennies each, as do Wilko.

  • Looks Ralph Steadman-esque. Maybe something like this?

  • I want to build a riser bar road bike, i'd like to do a 1x11 with a 6800 chainset with a 44t nw ring and a 11-34 cassette. is it better to use a 105 long cage derailleur or a can use some shimano mtb system?

  • I have a hard time believing that is avian-related.

  • like it, cheers bud
