• There are offset brake shoes out there (they give you another 10mm). But IME cxp14 are really a track rim, the lack of machining on these isn’t particularly nice to brake on - compared to vintagey rims from when machined brake tracks didn’t exist. Also they are really stiff, my road bike has them and it’s not a forgiving ride on country lanes.

  • Thanks Skully - worth stripping them down and splitting do you think? 650C track seems a bit niche ... but I'd keep the hubs if the rims would sell to recoup some £.
