That’s put me right off. I’ve got crappy plastic looking tile stuff in the hall I want to replace because it’s looking worse for wear. Maybe real tiles would be better? It has under floor heating there already, but I am worried about slippery when wet

Piece Hall isn't too shabby nowadays (although obviously not as good as Eurekea)

That floorplan makes my head hurt. So many doors
-
• #32983
What are you going to replace it with? Or is the aim a fix?
I've always thought for a utility room that red or grey stuff that restaurant kitchens have where it molds into a skirting board would be best.

Not exactly there, but my sister is Balcombe no that fair away, its a stunningly beautiful area. Some fanatastic roads and Ashdown Forest is on your doorstep. Ardingly do a (or did at least) a South East England show, which is proper Daily Mail.
You can get the train direct into the city from Balcombe, Redhill, or Three Bridges.
If I was moving back to Sussex, I'd look around that East Grsintead / Crowborough / Balcombe triangle.

What a bizarre downstairs floor plan.

But you can drive to Jazz and Java in Forest Row for the flat white.

Is it the house on the right in the picture with the garage? Or is there no picture of the front of the house?
-
• #32990
I'd guess it is the house.
The utility is an extension, the original door would probably have been straight on into the "study".
Let's find it on Streetview, ah yes pre-extension: https://goo.gl/maps/QJQbzebk4HFLH3te7

Noisy B2026.

I like complicated floorplans, even in a tasteless house. Disappointingly, there's not a single ingle nook in the place by the looks of it. At the fireplace in the lounge, the potential nooks are angled off. It surely warrants some action under the Trade Descriptions Act.

If we’d have started to look for houses right now this would have tempted me - 45mins direct train into Old St

That's a weird street. On one side they're all like that. On the other side they're all just standard houses.

Hatfield is a bit curious all over really. Not in a bad way. I quite like it.
Those places look like they are share of freehold, which could make things interesting.
-
• #32997
I'd take Welwyn or Hertford over Hatfield - similar commute, nicer towns.
The countryside in between is even nicer though.

Real tiles come with their own set of problems (if not on solid sub floor) but if they're proper floor ones they shouldn't be slippy... We have tiled front steps and they're fine in the rain.

At this point I'm not sure. If the flooring company decide to fix it that's fine with me but either way, I'm guessing the tiles aren't salvageable so something else is possible. That industrial stuff looks horrible but is very effective for cleaning. I think we'll avoid anything white, given the laundry fluff that is collecting already...

Was a development of 28 houses from the 60's - personally I think they're great and the layout of them really appeals to me. Don't know much about the area but it's very commutable
Seems to be so many properties coming on to the market at the moment. Quite a few that I recognise as having been previously "sold" where obviously it fell through but more new properties coming on too.
Starting to see a few drops in price but nothing huge, 2 or 3% max maybe.
