Boohoo has generated £5bn+ of wealth for it's shareholders. Its not just about the name at the top of the tree.

Is this meant to be a defence of their employment practices, as they are 'generating wealth'? Sorry if I have misread this.

I read it as more "it's not just the owner to blame here".

Yup, was more that the "owner" actually has a minority stake and there is a complicated relationship between board and shareholders which defines how "responsible" a company is.
