  • I’ve always been a cuffer (that sounds weird) but I’ve had my last pair hemmed to perfect length with no cuff. Enjoying the low key vibe so far

  • I don’t have a rule - some jeans I have take to correct length and no rolls others I wear rolled. Sometimes jeans just look better finishing without a role or vice versa

  • Cheers all, will ponder.

  • Anyone after a pair of APC jeans? They’re the New Standards, red selvedge, straight fit, 34 inch leg, 30 inch waist (about 32 actual) in really good condition with a 7.5 - 8 inch opening at the bottom of the leg. Worn a few times and washed so loads of room for wearing the shit out of them for fades etc.

I do have another pair that I can sell as well that have been professionally taken in at the waist, Petit Standard, red selvedge, fit like a 32-33 inch waist, inner leg 35.5, tapered fit, about a 7inch bottom opening... these are faded and will need a soak but again, in good condition.

£50 with p+p for the new standard
£40 with p+p for the petit standard

    Thanks
    JW

  • The Levis 1966 Japan only 501 with all kanji tags and hardware came out again today only £400 LOL

  • The older I get the more I think that the worst thing about these sort of products is getting a knowing nod from another 'head'

  • How often do things like these even get worn?

  • The older I get the less I give a fuck about anything...

  • Probably not even Tokushima indigo [nods head]

  • late to this but I understand the frustration. I've actually been wearing Uniqlo "selvedge" over the last year or so as I got too 'Henry 8th' like to fit into a pair of N&F Weird Guys and some ED-71's that I've worn the hell out of.

Not sure where in Canada you are but I've been to Dutil here in Toronto quite a few times and their selection is pretty good. Service is usually great and they have a chainstitch machine for alterations/hemming. I think they also have an outpost in Vancouver too if you're closer to there.

  • ha ha, I'm in Winnipeg. I've been to Dutil and agree with your assessment, found them to be helpful and non-judgemental.

  • I may be the last to know, but Mr Freedom has most things 30% off until they re-open to the public.

  • If it included ss2020 I’d be all over it. Some great new stuff this season.

  • Incremental changes are incremental. ED55s 2 years apart.

  • When Uniqlo first launched in Europe they they were the Japanese budget Gap and did green seamed selvedge denim up to something crazy like 44x29 and everything was super boxy fitting and cheap. The switch to ‘fashion’ came pretty late on.

  • Shame about uniqlo, their selvedge used to be a nice cheap stop gap jean, but now everything’s got stretch to it... funnily enough, a 45 year old man doesn’t want stretchy denim

  • Went for another pair of IH 888 in black this time and 21oz. Was worried about the weight but actually they’re fine. Feels good having thick material.

Anyone tried Pike bros denim? Looks good for the money

  • Their standard straight denim is 14.5 Oz Japanese stuff. I have 3 pairs. They're incredibly hard wearing for "not that expensive really" denim. And for the cost they're worth a go on just to see if you get on with them.

Edit. The Uniqlo website is so shit I can't find them.

  • I wanted to buy some black jeans but everything was made for emo kids

  • Not selvedge but, anyone want some bargain Stan Rays, you'll need to collect from Lewisham.

Picked up two pairs in TKmaxx as you cant try stuff on in the shop at the mo. These are too wide/boxey for my height and build.

Label is 36 waist, 32 leg but fit more like a 34/35

I can return them, but thought someone on here might want a bargain £19.99 paid.

  • If they're really like a 35 leg then I'll take a pair when I finally get round to picking up those panniers. 32 is definitely too short for me though - do they shrink at all?

  • 32 leg sorry 35 waist

  • Definitely 32 inseam
