I've almost talked myself into doing LEL again. Maybe COVID will save me from myself.

Thinking of doing the BCM solo next week. Tough route?

Is there a decent London > Devon (ish) route? Recall seeing one on here but can't remember where.

• #10306
Its not that hard. It is a great scenic route though and well worth doing.

Is it doable in a single big, big day?

Theres a few routes ive done - hilly, fast, long and a more scenic route I'll dig something out and DM you later. Its fine if you've done a few 300km hilly days before. My favourite route is 350km at 3200m of climbing.

Trafalgar Way
Probably the one for you. Goes to Exeter and you can easily had down to Exmouth from there. -

That appeared in my calendar. Is it actually online anywhere?

Did LWL yesterday. Was good until it got dark and started pissing down. That's the grrl's first 400k ride.

Doesn't seem to be - so ignore that suggestion.
I was hoping to do it. But had forgotten about it, until someone tweeted about it yesterday saying it was meant to be today. Was looking for my route when I rode to Lands End 10 years ago as I went via Exeter, but think it was a torn-pages-out-of-motoring-atlas job.

Congrats to her. I copied one of her ride ideas yesterday, going round loads of local streets. It was actually quite good, better than I expected. Hardly had to stop for traffic. I'll do it again when I want to do a 30-60 min ride.

I told her. Ta. She said she saw your route on Strava and it looked familiar :)
Now, anyone know how to fix my fit file from yesterday? #stupidtech
EDIT: fitfiletools seems to have recovered my file.

I don't think the route was shared yet. I was due to be riding it first time I've felt like i'm missing out this year!

I must have put it in my calendar as a possible event and then forgot about it. It popped up a reminder that it was starting today so I went looking for the route to see what it was about.

i just noticed this pop up on my strava! good work her
trying to work out a "local" 400 for myself - not sure i can stomach doing another long kent ride for a while so may well do a lwl-esque jaunt soon

I've enjoyed the LWL route most times I've done it and yesterday it was good because we started earlier (5ish) and still had light after 9pm. Whereas previous times I've done it in April and its been sub-zero temps and more night riding.
If anyone does do the LWL route - the left hand side of Severn bridge path is closed so you get directed to use the RHS and we then used a footpath with some stairs to take us to the services on the LHS and rejoin the route.

Yeah I have the (provisional) route if anyone wants it.
It was cancelled pretty early on. Next year maybe.
Yeah, that's my kinda vibe on the thing. I don't need the extra stress, I've already toured Belgium and this was meant to be a fun loop, trying to get as many beers in and still finish kinda vibe for me. I'd already basically decided to bin it if Badlands goes ahead but honestly I'm guess both are going to be missed as it stands.
