Speedplay Pedal Thread

Have some spare stainless 78mm (53mm spindle) standard axles.

I swapped them out for some rockbros Ti ones - which I think are 73mm overall - can recommend them, were about £30 from Ali-express

I grabbed a pair of J&L ti axles from eBay a few weeks back. Arrived in 3 days! Seem to work.

was that 'pre corona'?

Sorry I got confused it was my uno stem that turned up in 3 days. The spindles took 7 days including weekend. Both where ordered on the 30/3.

Has anyone come across these speedplay pave nockoff pedals before? Not interested in buying them, just curious.

Does anyone have a cheap pair of Speedplay pedals and cleats they want to sell. Just want to try them out and see if I like them.

fucked my stainless zero pedals. anyone got spare set of ti / stainless? pref in black.

Seems I've used the short bolts (black) for the three-bolt adaptor plate, when I should have used the long ones (silver). Chucked them ages ago, does anyone have a set they could send my way?

Any experience with Syzr in this thread? I’m considering them for gravel and road riding.

I'm not that excited about the Pedaling Innovations flats so was looking at the vids of these. They seem to avoid the issue of needing MTB shoe side pods like SPD which means they should be able to be setup midfoot without wobbling all over the place so far as I can tell.

Does anyone happen to have a couple of these lying around? I managed to lose my screws when replacing bearings a while ago and I don't want to have to buy 6.

Squeaky pedal was actually loose cleat screws, now tight.

Apart from periodically lubing the cleats, that’s the only maintenance I’ve done in three years, OG cleats still going strong. Not bad.

I wonder how many C-springs I've snapped in that time? :P

I did about 2 years on my first cleats and couldn’t work out what all the moaning was about.

Then I snapped 3 C springs in as many months

Should I get some back-up C springs or whole cleats in case?

Midfoot is probably a contributing factor for me. Mostly it was my cheapest shoes that did them in. But I have broken them in all my shoes so that's definitely not the only reason.

You can't buy c-springs. Speedplay provide all the spares except the one I need.

It's the only really wearing part of the cleats right. Everyone would just buy new springs instead of whole cleats.

Just replace with the aero walkable cleats when they wear out.

Guess so. Just worried about it happening when I’m Girona or something. €€€ in fancy bike shops I imagine.
