  • Respect.

Banging tiles all day; build bikes all night.

  • I've had two kids all day today.
    Wishing for tiles.

  • It is really nice. But isn't it just old bike with old groupset?

  • Going to dip back into this thread now I can finally make some progress on the Tommasini. After months of trying to find a stem I liked, then absolutely ages of not being able to find one, I finally have a stem on the way. Went for the Thomson x2, wanted it in black 17degree 110 but looked absolutely everywhere and couldn't find anything. Finally decided to get a 100mm that came up on eBay... And then the next day a brand new 110 came up! So the 100mm is up for sale when it arrives. I reckon the X2, being slimmer than most stems, will go well with the small steel tubes of the Super Prestige, and the low profile height of the clamp means I can trim down the adaptor meaning that will disappear too. I'll post some pictures on my CP thread when the stem arrives.

  • Yeah I guess so but there ain't a thread for that. The groupset is all over the place: 1055700, DA7700, DA7800, DA7900 and a Record headset, not sure where it really belongs.

  • Make sure you change the bolts! You need a bigger hex so you can torque them up properly.

  • Good tip thanks. Have you done it? Any chance you know what the bolt size is?

  • Or better still, ditch that pointless ahead adapter and buy a Nitto Ui12 if you really, really need 31.8 bars.

  • Current projects? :)

  • I've decided to never do one again. They feel a bit indulgent.

  • Today I fit the headset to my current project. Its going to be a while until its finished but can't wait. The rear wheel turned up dished completely wrong so need to get it into a shop to sort it out but after that it should be quick to finish.

  • This allows me to go flat, was £30 and is black. At that price I can change it out if it doesn't work.

  • No ergo bars pls

  • Why not?

  • I mean the common CP thread. But whatever. Bike is nice and I don't mind

  • From gazelle thread - 👌

  • Very nice. I'd put a white saddle on, if it were me.

  • Very nice, did the seatpost come with the bike or did you manage to subtly colour match?

  • First build in ages I'm stoked on. Frame and group from on here, rest parts bin or bought. I even like the odd seatpost.

  • Really nice. If I was to quibble I would want a more classic bar shape, but I'm sure they are selected as you find them comfortable, which is more important.

  • Lovely! Nice wheels. ;)

  • DA 9000 on skinny tubes looks great.
Bar angle / hood placement is off though, if you want a flat ramp you're be better off with compact bars.

  • Still arguing with myself about bar choice and awful tape job so this is likely to change. Really like the drop of the ergo bars though I want a flat top. Sigh.

  • Thanks man, and yeah bars are still in the elimination process.
