Amazing, the gift that keeps giving and you don’t even have to carefully water it every week.
@greentricky it won’t take long, that’s ~ 2.5 years old.
@Sparky eh up matey, you must visit when (if) normality resumes...

What is it? A yukka?
-

Yes - a yukka.
Looks as if someone has chucked out an old artificial Christmas tree on top :)

New to having house plants, was never a fan but lockdown life has finally broken me and oh my, house plants are actually very interesting!
This is my prayer plant sort of sleeping with its few leaves on the top... 😅
I didn’t choose prayer plants specifically for its movement, but rather they are non toxic to cats.
Any suggestion of any plants that are cats friendly, I am all ears!
Any suggestions for house plants newbie, I am here!
Off I go go through this thread! 😎

My avocado plant is still going, he lost some leaves a few weeks ago but has grown more and seems happy.

@Dexter unfortunately not. I tried with two stones. One took eventually. 1 didn’t. I tried previously and was keeping the water level about halfway up the seed, but nothing much happened. This time, I only kept the water level in contact with the root tip, keeping the rest of the seed dry. All the sun we have had lately seems to help too. Good luck.

Replace the water and wait for it to sprout a stalk

@Kat_Balou when did you plant yours in soil?
-
• #492
When it produced leaves, plant with the top half of the stone exposed.

Never been able to grow an avocado plant from seed in my life.
After watching some YT clip, I got inspired. Now got those 3 on the go.
What are the odds of 0-3 to the avocado gods ?(any tips so that they survive the first stage and make it into a little plant? Ta)

The company that usually looks after my office's plants have branched out into home delivery in London zones 1-4. I got this massive cactus for £25.

How do encourage aloe Vera / other succulent to grow rather than multiply?

Thanks! Quite a few ferns as well throughout the house and at work. Favourites are blue, asparagus and maidenhair. Also a massive money tree I'll post some time. This is a favourite cactus. It was about 2 inches when I got it w 2 years ago. Helps being a potter to make my own house plant pots!
