@fredtc As in, could it be legit? Given that they still fetch fair money there's an incentive to fake them or Frankenstein them.

Dial looks both too good for its age (colour) and too sloppy (numerals).

I like it but on closer inspection thought the dial doesn’t match the case. It looks touched up, but aside from that the numerals are hand painted which I thought looked much older than the rest of the watch. It’s not in a reputable jewellers so I guess could be both

This is what, 1950s? Yeah...the case is what it is. Someone who knows more than I can tell you if a 50s case can be bought back to that.
