Ok good point. It doesn't like there is much/any water returning to the tank from the radiator either. Ive got ANOTHER(!) mechanic doing a sniffer test on wed then depending what he says I'll go ahead and replace the rad etc.
Feel the rad and see if the temp goes from hot to cold with no cold spots.
