You make it sound like they are drunken reprobates. "Hanging out down by the water front making mischief". They haven't made it far since the 18th century.....
They're one of the least frightening things on Sheppey.
A peacock caterpillar on every nettle leaf on the field behind me. Less nettles, more butterflies win:win.
