I'm not a huge fan of Richard Herring but every International Women's Day he tasks himself with winding up as many men's rights types as possible asking "why isn't there an international men's day" with comments such as "there is it's November the 19th". Which I find quite amusing.

Never seen it observed/celebrated mind
It's used to try to draw attention to some men's issues like education underachievement and suicide. Obviously that's a slightly different purpose from international women's day, which is about celebrating the achievements and contribution of women that have been historically silenced.
