12 chickens for the Challenge Clincher Mounting Tool.
Conti GP5000TL on DT411 was a pain, as well. Came on eventually with campag tire levers, would have snapped lesser ones. -

After first test the Ikea mat wasn't long enough and I ended up "stitching" two bits together with paracord. Looks very shoddy but actually held up fine and was quite stable when cinched down. I think it would be better if it was ~50% bigger or just with a smaller dry bag.

Not half as shoddy as I expected it to, love it! How is it around the thighs?

Thanks! All credit to you though (or rather the bloke in NZ who came up with the idea). The dry bag I have is oddly square at the bottom so there was a bit of tappage but not a deal breaker. I think a tapered bag or a few slices of foam between the holster and the seat post would solve it.

a new satnav
I'm surprised that's even a thing. Why aren't they using a phone?
-
• #103163
No idea. They are just old and feel comfortable having a satnav and I'm the lucky individual tasked with helping them

Does anyone know the order and positioning of spindle spacers/washers needed on a RaceFace X-type crankset, or have a link to a manual? Struggling to find anything with Google and the RF website doesn't seem to have anything helpful. It's for a mid/late 00's Evolve XC that I'd got with no spacers and I've ordered this set (which I think is correct?):
1 x 3.5mm elastomer
2 x black rubber 1mm spacer
1 x red rubber 1mm spacer

Why can't little cornershops do cashback?
-
• #103168
It costs them money so they don't want to
-
• #103169
Surely they could just say they need to add on some money to cover costs or just have an explicit charge for it?
-
• #103170
They could but no one likes paying a fee to withdraw money and it's also a hassle for them, makes balancing the float in the till that much harder.

Good points, thanks.
Went out without wallet and needed to pay for something with a fiver cash. Had google pay on phone, surrounded by off licences but couldn't get any cash. Felt like a silly situation.

Two questions:
1) What chainline does an aerospoke rear fixed wheel give? Is it 42mm?
2) What is the purpose of the small conical springs that you get in QR skewers?
-
• #103175
- To space out the skewer so you could easily slot your wheel in.

Looking for an explanation why I can't put a short cage on a long cage derailleur body as *noted..some long cage specific parts not made available as spares, hence omitted from the drawing? Different spring wire in the main body, possibly?
